SERTA iPEDIC · BIOCRYSTAL®
Natural minerals, thoughtfully woven into rest
Biocrystal® is a natural-mineral technology used inside mattress materials. Selected crystals are ground and blended into comfort layers such as foam. You feel the softness, cushioning and support of the complete mattress, with Biocrystal adding a material designed around the experience of unwinding.

Where does Biocrystal sit in the mattress?
The developer grinds selected mineral crystals into a fine powder, blends them in defined proportions and incorporates the mixture into an inner mattress layer. The familiar fabric and comfort layers remain on the sleep surface. There is nothing extra for you to operate.
How does Biocrystal become part of a mattress?
A blend of 16 natural crystals
The supplied iPedic product training describes a formula of 16 natural crystals. The developer grinds and blends selected crystals in specific proportions to make a material for sleep products.
Built into a comfort layer
Biocrystal can be incorporated into foam, textile or latex layers. It is part of the mattress construction, rather than loose particles on the sleep surface. Check each model for its actual construction.
Working with the whole mattress
Firmness, spring support, comfort layers and breathability shape the immediate feel. Biocrystal adds a material feature designed around relaxation. Compare both when choosing your bed.
Why is it associated with relaxation?
After a busy day, your body deserves a comfortable place to settle. The developer designed Biocrystal around relaxation and published tests comparing Biocrystal foam with ordinary control foam. During parts of the tests, researchers observed lower muscle activity and heart-rate readings, as well as a difference in skin conductance later in the test. These are measures used to observe the body’s relaxation response.
What did the research measure?
The supplied research summary and training material describe randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled comparisons by BION. The material reports nine test reports and 890 measurements. The developer publishes these specific observations.
Muscle activity · EMG
The developer reports lower muscle activity on Biocrystal foam than control foam from about 10 minutes into the test, remaining lower later on.
Heart rate
The developer reports lower heart-rate readings for the Biocrystal group from about eight minutes.
Skin conductance
The developer reports a difference from about 16 minutes; training material describes the difference in the latter half as significant.
Breathing and EEG
The material describes an increase in a breathing measure and in EEG theta activity. These physiological readings alone do not establish deep sleep or a treatment effect.
The summary also states a 36.4% average improvement in “overall state” after one month. Its eight pages do not define that score or provide participant numbers or the calculation, so we present it here as the material’s statement.
The best next step is to experience the complete mattress. Lie in your usual position, notice how your shoulders, waist and hips feel, then compare firmness, size and budget. When the overall feel is right, Biocrystal is an extra layer of design worth exploring.

Will I feel crystal particles?
It does not feel like lying on grains. Biocrystal is a fine powder incorporated into materials; surface feel mainly comes from the cover and comfort layers.
Does Biocrystal change firmness?
Firmness comes mainly from the complete mattress construction. Each model has its own comfort and support layers, so choose the feel you prefer.
Which models can I explore?
